- How many patents are on each weekly list?
- It changes every week. The list for the week of Oct 19, 2026 has 70 consumer products, plus 93 patents in other topics like software and medical devices. We picked them from 3,667 patents that lapsed that week. Free includes the top five. Pro includes all of them.
- Is a lapsed patent free to use?
- Not automatically. The patent itself has expired, but owners revive about 1.5% of lapsed patents. Related patents, design patents or trademarks can also still cover a product. We flag related patents on each page. Treat every listing as a research lead, and have a patent attorney check it before you put money into tooling.
- What does Lapsing soon include?
- Consumer-category patents whose owners missed a maintenance fee and are in the final six-month grace period, with the exact lapse deadline for each. Many owners do pay late — but the ones that don't show up on the weekly list a few months later. Studio members get to start their research early.
- How do I cancel?
- From the account page, any time. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- What's the refund policy?
